Its always best to check and make sure first in any case, but anything competitive or even vaguely non-casual is a heavy almost definitely not. Proxies arent legal in MTG in sanctioned Magic events, and depending on how theyre made, they sometimes skirt the line of legal in general

The Commander Decks have revealed a ton of new cards in a similar vein that have great mechanical nods to their respective gamessome of my favorites include Zack Fair in FFVII s, which lets you essentially replicate Cloud swiping Zacks identity after his death, or Champions from Beyond in FFXIV s, a very nifty nod to the MMORPGs party finder mechanic (and one of the coolest moments in its expansion Shadowbringers )
