In such scenarios, Emet-Selch can come down as a kind of finisher, essentially drawing you 14 cards once it flips over
you get a lands commander that ramps, disruption for your opponents, a massive creature that cant be interacted with via blockers, and most importantly, a sacrifice outlet

With this one card you can quickly deal with token-based lists or quickly remove all of the opponent's mana rocks
