This is made of a micro Carbon Fiber filled Nylon. We also offer one for the EinScan H and HX scanners here. This allows the scanner to be attached to a VESA arm where it can be held better to make scanning certain objects easier. The stock bracket that comes with this is flimsy and unable to hold the scanner at extreme angles. We did not feel
