A Voltron commander can become so threatening that opponents have to cast an Austere Command to blow up what's attached to it or a Damnation to destroy all creatures and temporarily level the playing field, or risk dying in combat

Both have a great board presence as solid trampling bodies that can swing and win, while also having shroud/hexproof to keep your foes from mucking about and slaying it
The feeling of being told no by a piece of stax-lite, or having a game-altering card played, can often feel pretty tilting, especially given that other players at the table might still be able to pop off through that stax piece, or not care about the undercosted threat
