Core set cards tend to be simpler than cards you see in other releases
There are a lot of card overlaps, but one deck wants to put the lands into play for landfall, while the graveyard-oriented version wants to discard and then return them, often only to hand to discard them again
Stab feels right at common, but Gutless Plunderer feels more like an uncommon that got a last-minute downshift
For now, it's clear Konami just wants players to move on from the deck
If your deck isnt particularly fast, or you want to draw cards on not your turn (Im looking at you, God-Eternal Kefnet players), getting to draw a card now versus later might actually turn out in your favor
