This was because the pull rates on the average Alternate Art V from this era is about 1/150 packs, and the Alternate Art VMAX is even harder to pull at around 1/300 packs (making some individual cards have odds 1/1000 or worse.) This would lead to these sets getting nicknames like 'Chilling Pain', 'Evolving Cries', and 'Fusion Sike.' With Brilliant Stars, the Pokemon Company would address this concern with the introduction of the Trainer Gallery - a subset of Character Art cards that could be pulled in the Reverse Holo slot
