Handmade in the early to mid 1800s, and made entirely of dress and ribbon silks. Each piece of silk has been meticulously wrapped around a diamond shaped paper pattern. The quilt maker used old letters with beautiful handwritten script, some old leaflets and an envelope still with a penny red stamp depicting a young Queen Victoria, stamped London, April 1866 (?)
